Audio Settings for SX

Sports Xtra Camcorders (Sony NEX-EA50U)

 

  • Basic setup for shooting B-roll.

The setup to record the internal built-in microphone onto both Input 1 (Left channel) and Input 2 (Right channel). Audio Level can set to AUTO as long as you aren’t recording in a very loud environment.

 

 

  • Basic set-up for shooting interviews.

The setup to record a microphone plugged into Input 1 onto both Input 1 (Left channel) and Input 2 (Right channel). Audio Level needs to be set to MAN (manual) and adjusted with the dials if you are recording in a very loud environment. NOTE: Inputs set to MIC because mics don’t require power from the camera.

 

 

  • Set-up to record wired/wireless mic and natural sound

The setup to record an external microphone plugged into Input 1 onto Input 1 (Left channel) and the internal built-in microphone onto Input 2 (Right channel). Audio Level can set to AUTO as long as you aren’t recording in a very loud environment.

The setup to record an external microphone plugged into Input 1 onto Input 1 (Left channel) and an external microphone plugged into Input 2 onto Input 2 (Right channel). Audio Level can set to AUTO as long as you aren’t recording in a very loud environment. NOTE: Inputs set to MIC because the mics do not require power from the camera (CW or SX microphone).

  • Basic set-up for interviews using a Carolina Week wired/wireless mic

The setup to record an external microphone plugged into Input 1 (Left channel). This set-up will also record an external microphone plugged into Input 2 (Right channel) if you set Input 2 to CH2 in the camera menu. Audio Level can be set to A (auto) if you aren’t recording in a very loud environment.

The setup to record an external microphone plugged into Input 1 (Left channel). This set-up will also record an external microphone plugged into Input 2 (Right channel) if you set Input 2 to CH2 in the camera menu. Audio Level must be set to M (manual) if you are recording in a very loud environment.

This is the menu setting to record the internal built-in microphone to Channel 2 (Right Channel). NOTE: An external microphone plugged into Input 1 always records to Channel 1 (Left Channel) regardless of which input CH2 is getting.

 

  • Advanced Interview set-up to record one mic on both channels

This is the menu setting to record an external microphone plugged into Input 1 to Channel 2 (Right Channel). NOTE: An external microphone plugged into Input 1 always records to Channel 1 (Left Channel) regardless of which input CH2 is getting.

 

  • Advanced Interview set-up to record two external mics
